    Dauphin County observes
“Conservation District Week”
HARRISBURG - At their
Thursday weekly meeting ~ the
Dauphin County Commissioners
proclaimed Oct. 3-9, as “Con
servation . District Week’’ in
recognition of the service provided
by the Dauphin County .Con
servation District since its
organization on April 2, 1952,”
reports John E. Munich, chair
man of the Board' of County
Coipnussioners.
The' Dauphin Conservation
District will observe “Con
servation District Week” by
hosting the 35th Joint Annual
Conference of the Pennsylvania
Association of Conservation
District Directors, Inc. and the
State Conservation Commission.‘
Over 300 conservationists are
expected to attend the conference
■at the Americana’s Rost Inn,
Harrisburg on Oct. 4,5 and 6.
The theme for this year’s con
ference is “Conservation
Challenge.” Despite federal and
state budget cuts Pennsylvania’s
