Luzerne Fair posts livestock winner&
WILKES-BARRE - The
livestock tent was bustling with
activity as 4-H’ers, FFA’ers, and
open class exhibitors prepared
their animals for judging at the
Luzerne County Fall Fair, held
earlier this month. Clyde Meyers,
Berks County Extension agent
judged the livestock and Ralph
Sands, Trucksville, judged the
dairy.
Receiving premiums in the 4-H
and FFA dairy divisions were;
James Cappucci, Jr., Mehoopany,
third-place Holstein senior calf,
fourth-place senior showman, and
fifth-place senior fitter.
Joseph Cappucci, Mehoopany,
second-place Holstein senior calf,
fifth-place senior showman, and
fourth-place senior fitter.
Brent Cook, Dallas, third-place
Holstein intermediate calf class,
first-place Guernsey senior
yearling, second-place senior
showman, first-place fitter,
champion fitter and Guernsey
Junior Champion.

adult buck. David Stokes,
Shavertown, first-place young
buck, and first-place adult doe.
Ricky Stokes, Shavertown, first
place doe and Utter, first-place
young doe and first-place adult
buck.
Six breeds of sheep were entered
in the open class sheep show with
the following as winners for each
breed species:
CHEVIOTS - Mart, PhilUp, and
Lloyd McCain received all the
awards with Mark entering the
Champion Ham & Ewe, and Lloyd
the Reserve Champion Ham &
Ewe.
