DIRECTIONS TO FARM:
East Malta Farm is located just east of Malta, PA on Mahantango Creek Road, which is 2 miles East of Rt. 147.
The farm is 25 miles South of Sunbury, 7 miles North of Millersburg.
The East Malta herd was founded over 50 years ago. Until recent years the farm was a producer-distributor of
Golden Guernsey milk. After the milk business was discontinued the herd was enlarged and they are now
milking 150 Guernseys and 35 Grade Holstems.
The best of sires have been used. Sires represented will be Welcome Flash’s Hollirex (11), Housleys Dari
Fayvor (14), McDonalds Darimost Titan (10), Kellogg Minnies Choice (14), McDonalds Top Marine (5),
Woodacres Sultan (7), Eber Lea Farms Winston (4), Sande Hill Double Emory (4), Big Tex (7), McDonalds Top
Pilot (3).
The herd is predominantly late summer and fall freshening with 20 head due in August, 22 in September, 17
in October, 20 in November and 21 in December.
The herd is in excellent physical condition - the herd having been closely culled any unsound or problem cows
will be eliminated.
The heifers are well grown with a group due in Sept.-Oct. - another in September and about 20 head ready to
breed this fall.
The herd is TB and Bangs accredited - will be tested for both plus anaplasmosis prior to sale. Calfhood Vac
