Protective headgear has been
used for many years by workers in
a number of industries, and of
course by soldiers, racing drivers,
football players, motorcyclists and
others whose activities expose
them to the risk of head injury. It is
credited for saving many lives,
reducing the number and severity
of head injuries and conserving
countless millions of dollars.
But protective headgear has yet
to enjoy wide use on the nation’s
farms, though Hamford and other
farm safety leaders are trying to
