LANCASTER - The recent
Keystone Classic Ayrshire Sale
dispersed 36 head into Penn
sylvania, New York, New Jersey,
Maryland and Virginia. According
to sale manager Milt Brubaker,
the dairy economy held prices to a
conservative but acceptable level.
Edward Bressler of Manheim
paid the sale high $1,300 for a fancy
bred heifer, consigned by Howard
Webb of Lincoln, Delaware.
A service-age bull pulled the
next high bid from Haynes Farm of
Tully, N.Y. The young sire is by
Reidina Dawner Gallant Man, the
highest living USDA proven bull of
the bred, and out of Maple Drive

young cow turned in a high-testing
record as a 2-year-old. She finished
at 11,728 pounds of milk, 500 pounds
of fat with a 4.3 percent test.
Robert E. and William A. Moore
of Mt. Savage, Md., were the high
volume buyers with six head for
|5,340. Top of their purchases was
a bred heifer at $l,llO consigned by
Leon Perry. Second high volume
buyer was Richard Winch of Ar
cade, N.Y. who bought five head
for $3,280.
