King Ginny Gem” sired by Cot
terdale Astronaut King, captured
the senior and grand champion
ribbons at the 13th annual Fayette
County Black and White Show,
held Aug. 3 at the county
fairgounds.
The 5-year-old champion was
just one of several top placing
animals exhibited by Allen-Hill
Dairy, R 1 Smock, named the
show’s premier breeder and
exhibitor.
Their 3-year-old entry, by Kanaz
Brook Matt Carlo, “Alien-Hill
Carol Jewel Gem,” won the
reserve senior and grand honors
for die Smock dairy operation.
Among their other blue-ribbon
wins were the dairy herd, best
three females and dam and
daughter categories.
Junior champion rosettes went
to Terry Kuehn of Monroeville, for
his senior yearling “Vonderbar
Pete Ruby, by Straight-Pine
Elevation Pete. Taking the reserve
heifer spot was
rlaymond Brown of Acme, with a
senior calf sired by Circle-B

to market their livestock
throughout the year, rather than
summer and fall.
“Producers can benefit by
marketing year-round because
they increase their chances of
receiving higher prices,” Laidlow
said.
