It serves to transport eggs without manual handling. Due to its engineenng perfection there is no damage to the eggs. Its design makes use of the unit-construction principle which, through low assembly costs, enables the assembly of an individual conveying system that is adapted to every situation. Furthermore, the cross-conveyor is designed for operation in any direction; straight, uphill, downhill. ARRANGEMENT The heart of the installation is the slatted conveyor belt consisting of plastic tubes connected at both ends to conveyor chains. The effective width of the cross-conveyor is 14Vz". The distance between the tubes has been optimized so that even small size eggs will not fall through the egg belt when making use of its full climbing power. The slatted conveyor belt runs in galvanized steel sections which are connected using vertically adjustable floor supports. For driving purposes, alternative power units may be selected; conveyor length’s up to 300’ possible, depending on size of the power unit selected. Using a pivoting unit the eggs can be lifted from floor level to the collection table or any packer. REYNOLDS & YELLOTT CO. INC.
