PIGS WEANED
According to the USDA, the average
number of pigs weaned per litter has not
improved over the past 25 years.
DEKALB's genetic research program
selects for female lines that farrow and
wean large litters.
Cummulative 12-month 1980 records on
several customers farms indicate that
DEKALB females are second to none.
9,045 litters from DEKALB hybrid sows
bred to DEKALB hybrid boars on these
farms averaged 9.22 pigs weaned per
litter over two pigs per litter, better
than the national average.
