audience. “We’re not interested in
a giveaway program for Penn
sylvania. What fanners need is to
be able to sell their products for a
fair price and get a fair return.
You don’t solve the problems on
farms by giving away food. ,
When asked about the
possibilities of Pennsylvania
buying farm development fights,
Thornburgh said optimistically,
“That’s something we’ll pork on
next year. We’re not working for
control in Harrisburg but to keep
balance between rural and urban
factions m a tension-resolving,
positive role.”

departure for the state” and
"unlikely.”

Thornburgh reelection committee
with Nellie Crawford of Port
Royal, a dairy farmer and
chairman of the State Women’s
Committee of Pennsylvania
Farmers’ Association. Benner
noted the committee will work with
the Thomburgh-Scranton cam
paign and with the Pennsylvania
Ag Republicans. He added the
committee’s membership is
bipartisan and will represent all
agricultural sections of the state,
as well as all farm commodities.
