CARLISLE Buyers from New
York, New Jersey, Virginia and
Georgia turned out, Wednesday Cor
the annual Firecracker Ayrshire
sale at the Carlisle Fairgrounds.
Masonic Homes F.F. Lou topped
the sale at (1,530. Consigned by
Masonic Homes of Elizabethtown,
the bred heifer was purchased by
Dean E. Varner of Shirleysburg.
The heifer is sired by Oak Ridge
Flashy Fortune and out of a high
producing Mar-Ral Hi Kick
daughter with records to 15,248
pounds of milk and 633 pounds of
fat.
The annual sale, sponsored by
the Central and Southeastern Pa.
Ayrshire clubs grossed |20,480 and
averaged (853.33 on 24 bead.
William Yoder of Montezuma,
Georgia paid 11,500 for a fresh 3-
year-old, the second high-selling
animal. Benayr Peter Riff, con
signed by Donald Benson, of Mt.
Crawford, Virginia is sired by
Peterbarb Harold out of Benayr
April Love.
Yoder also paid $l,OOO for a bred
heifer consigned by Sam Diehl of
Bedford. Mine Choag Liberty Bell
is sired by Granbyenne Royal
Command. She is due in Sep
tember to Cove Creek Madge’s
Boy.
Another fresh cow, consigned by
Daryl and Doris Martin of Bethel
brought the third high price of
