Prices *re from Egg Clearinghouse, Inc., (ECI) Durham, N.H. and
reflect trading prices for gradable nest run eggs (GNR) on ECI, a nation
wide trading center for producers, packers and marketers. GNR eggs are
by weight m 30-dozen cases, and traded in lots of either 300 or
750 cases. Prices are FOB buyers dock, and are computed Tuesday and
Thursday of each week. This week’s prices for each classification were:

MARKET COMMENT: Ready to
cook movement cm whole birds bas
shown some improvement in most
all quarters. Demand is fair with
most plants clearing product a
little better today. However, ad
ditional product is still available
and readily fares with in today’s
LTL asking price range of 48-51
cents on US grade A slaughter
schedules are heavy, live supply is
fully adequate & weights are
heavier than desired. All resulting
in additional poundage to move for
most plants. Undertone barley
steady.

MARKET COMMENT: Car
toned egg movement remains
good. Graded stocks of jumbos and
x-large are tight. Large are
adequate and most dealers are
able to fill orders. Medium are
irregular but overall the supply is
no more than adequate. Ungraded
stocks are constantly held and
current inquiry is not being filled
in all quarters.
