    Pa. to get $205,000 for additional conservation work
HARRISBURG Pennsylvania
will be receiving $205,000 in ad
ditional Agricultural Conservation
Program funds for fiscal year 1982
These funds are part of more than
$6 million being provided by the
U S. Department of Agriculture for
meeting soil and water con
servation needs and improving
water quality, according to last
week’s announcement by U.S.
Secretary of Agriculture John K.
Block.
Of the $205,000 coming to Penn
sylvania, about $150,000 will be
allocated to various counties
throughout the state for the
hnancing of erosion control
measures, such as stripcropping
systems, cropland terraces,
diversions, reduced and no-tillage,
and sod waterways. These funds
must be obligated to farmers by
Sept 30, however practices will not
have to be completed by this date.

In Pennsylvania, two major
areas were chosen to receive the
additional funding the fourteen
county area known as the Mason-
Dixon Agricultural Conservation
Program, and the Pennsylvania
Highlands Project, in the nor
thwestern portion of the state
Within the Mason-Dixon,
counties which will have more
funds for ACP practices are
Berks and Montgomery for the
Perkiomen Creek watershed,
Chester for White Clay Creek,
Franklin for Greene and Guilford
townships, Lehigh for Ontelaunee
Creek: Northampton for
Monocacy Creek; Dauphin for
Wiconisco Creek, Bucks for East
Perkiomen Creek; Cumberland for
Conodogumet Creek; York for
Codorus Creek; and Adams for
Rock Creek Lancaster and
Delaware counties will receive no
additional ACP funding.

means one nozzle per pen The nozzle assures a coarse
droplet spray pattern which is important for maximum
cooling A fine mist of fog is not desirable in
geographical areas of generally high summer relative
humidity
