If you don't VOTE, you won't be HERD !
Here are the facts:
You will be receiving a BALLOT from the PA Department of
Agriculture the week of May 3rd requesting that you
vote YES or NO for a MANDATORY Milk Promotion Program.
If the program is passed, $.lO per CWT will be deducted
from your milk check. Passage means if YOU produce 2,000
pounds per day, YOU will pay $730 per year or $3650 for five
years.
This is a MANDATORY program. If passed, every dairyman in
the commonwealth would be required to contribute BY LAW.
NO producerJßEFUNDSare permitted.
Pennsylvania dairy farmers will pay over $9 million per year,
this five-year program will cost Pennsylvania dairymen over
$45 million.
Think about $45 million leaving our counties with no
assurance of return.
The program's advertising will be non-brand only a costly
experiment at best..
This MILK INCOME TAX could jeopardize effective voluntary
brand-name advertising programs.
This is a state government program NOT a producer
program. The Secretary of Agriculture has veto power over
all spending decisions. Most government programs DO NOT
work.
