out for the recent Huff-N-Puff
Invitational-ET sale at the William
H. Pettit farm.
WUlsholm Elevation Enuhe-ET
topped the 43-head sale and sold for
$8,200. Harry Mosholder of
Lockwood purchased the heifer,
who is due in May to Arlmda
Rotate. Consigned by North View
Farm of Berlin, the Elevation
daughter is out of WUlsholm Jewel
Elite, an Excellent Provm MTN
Ivanhoe Jewel with records to
20,300 pounds of milk and 867
pounds of fat as a 3-year-old.
The sale which grossed $164,200
and averaged more than $3,800 on
43 head, was managed by R. Austin
Backus, Inc. of Mexico, N.Y. The
deep pedigreed females, touted as
“bull mothers of tomorrow,” were
dispersed into New York, Penn
sylvania, California, Maryland,
New Jersey, Virginia, Ohio,
Illinois, Connecticut and Vermont.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S.
Department of Agriculture will
establish a demonstration project
that will convert about 4 million
bushels of low quality corn owned
by USDA’s Commodity Credit
Corporation into fuel grade
alcohol.
Secretary of Agriculture John R.
Block said the project will in
vestigate new market outlets for
CCC-owned corn that might
otherwise spoil.

Hartman Farms of Dundee,
Illinois paid $7,000 for a 6-month
old Valiant daughter. Consigned by
Maize Valley Farms of Hartville,
Ohio, the heifer is out of Jeraldme
Cinnamon Supreme, an Excellent
Agro Acres Marquis Ned. The
Supreme cow, with records to
24,180 pounds of milk and 991
pounds of fat as a 6-year-old, was
named All-American 4-year-old in
1977.
William Pettit, Sr. paid $6,600 for
Yarsons Apollo Fond Leona-ET, a
7-month-old Chief Ford daughter.
Her dam, Suelawn Apolle Lee, an
Excellent Apollo Ivanhoe writes a
three generation Excellent
pedigree on her maternal line, two
of which are Gold Medal Dams.
The Lee cow also has three con
secutive lacations of more than
1,000 pounds of fat. Her high
selling Ford daughter was con
signed by Mike Yarosh of
Wellington, Ohio.
Gladtime Lucille Lulu-ET nailed
down a $6,500 bid from
Susquehanna breeder H.J. Hartt.
Consigned by William Underwood
of Tully, N.Y. the Chapel-Bank
Apache daughter is due in August
to S-W-D Valiant. Her dam, Locust
provide a market outlet to con
serve CCC’s assets m an ac

28,670 pounds of milk and 1,144
pounds of fat as a 7-year-old.
Lebanon County -- Farmer had new above-ground storage tank
with transfer system but was afraid to use it because he was told
how much extra water he would need to add to get it out again.
