The sale which grossed $164,200 and averaged more than $3,800 on 43 head, was managed by R. Austin Backus, Inc. of Mexico, N.Y. The deep pedigreed females, touted as “bull mothers of tomorrow,” were dispersed into New York, Penn sylvania, California, Maryland, New Jersey, Virginia, Ohio, Illinois, Connecticut and Vermont. A Carlm-M Ivanhoe Bell daughter out of a Very Good Jet Stream commanded $7,600. Pen Col Farms of Millville bought the 3- month-old heifer, Oakenbound Bell Fairy-ET. William Pettit, Sr. paid $6,600 for Yarsons Apollo Fond Leona-ET, a 7-month-old Chief Ford daughter. Her dam, Suelawn Apolle Lee, an Excellent Apollo Ivanhoe writes a three generation Excellent pedigree on her maternal line, two of which are Gold Medal Dams. The Lee cow also has three con secutive lacations of more than 1,000 pounds of fat. Her high selling Ford daughter was con signed by Mike Yarosh of Wellington, Ohio.
