Farmers may enroll in the Five
Acre Corn Club by completing an
official entry form at their local
County Agricultural Extension
Office by July 1. The enrollee must
be 18 or more years old and only
one entry is allowed per farm
and/or farm operator.
The production field must be five
acres or more. A Penn State soil
test within the past two years is
required. It the field area is con
toured, two or more strips on the
same slope may be included in
order to obtain the minimum five
acre area. At harvest, all strips
must be sampled in the yield
determinations.
The acreage must be planted to a
single variety of corn. Irrigated
fields cannot be entered.

class and a Three Year Average
class for each of the harvest
classes. Eligibility in the three
year average classes requires a
participant to have three con
secutive years participation in the
Corn Club and each year must
have been in the same harvest
class.
Current year champions m the
ear or shelled gram classes may
not succeed themselves, and they
are not eligible for the Three Year
Average Award. A three year
average champion is not eligible to
compete in the Corn Club for one
growing season.
Club members may obtain in
dividual production costs, by
completing the budget portion of
the report forms.
