Pequea Valley FFA holds annual awards banquet
BIRD-IN-HAND - Parents,
members and supporters of the
Pequea Valley FFA Chapter
gathered at the Plain and Fancy
Restaurant Thursday, March 25,
for the chapter’s annual awards
banquet
Among the top award winners
honored at the banquet were Ron
Groff, Star Greenhand; and Bob
Buohl, Chapter Star Farmer.
“It was a very difficult selection
for the Star Greenhand honor,”
remarked Clair Witwer, chapter
advisor who presided over the
awards portion of the program
“The competition was very close
among four first-year candidates."

also paid tribute to the other three

Chapter participated in a Fall
Harvest Safety Promotion. Ac
tivities included the distribution of
safety materials at restaurants
and other places of business where
farmers gather and the placement
of safety stickers on machinery
used for harvesting.
Among the top three chapter
members who participated in the
promotion were Blaine Stoltzfus,
first; Craig Weaver, second, and
Ed McQueen, third.
Overall, the Pequea Valley
Chapter was among the top 10 FFA
chapters in Pennsylvania who
participated in the Fall Harvest
Safety Promotion program.
The other chapter activity was
the annual fund-raising sale of
