LANCASTER In one of the And, dual trophies as the top
largest competitions in recent Lancaster County team and the top
years, a member of the Cloister team in the three-county area of
FFA Chapter, Ephrata, and a Lancaster, York and Berks went to
team from the Grassland Chapter, the three-member team from the
Garden Spot High School, New Grassland Chapter at Garden Spot

Melissa Peters and Mark Ward.
Among the Berks County en
trants, the top team award went to
the Oley Valley team of Courdlan
Fisher, Shaun Sparks and Dean
Willman.
The second-place Elizabethown
team in Lancaster County included
Kevm Noll, John Amsbaugh Jr.
and John Dohner.
The third-place Lancaster
County team from Penn Manor
High School included Brian Hess,
Mike Appel and Brian Herr.
The fourth and fifth-place teams
from Lancaster County were
teams from Garden Spot High
School.
Among the top 10 individual
scorers finishing behind Jeff
Martin were Brian Hurst, Garden
Spot; Gina Black, Garden Spot;
Julie Hess, Garden Spot; John
Amsbaugh, Elizabethtown; Rich
Solbng, Garden Spot; Kevin Noll,
Elizabethtown; Kevin Martin,
Garden Spot; Brian Herr, Penn
Manor; and Mike Appel, Penn
Manor.
The morning-long competition of
judging various phases of poultry
and egg quality was held at
Weaver’s Quality Eggs plant in
the Greenfield Industrial Park. In
addition to Weaver’s, trophies
awarded in the competition were
sponsored by Hubbard Farms, Inc.
and the Lancaster County Poultry
Association.

FFA Chapter took five first
placmgs in the Berks County
project book and scrapbook
competition.
The chapter’s scrapbook was
awarded one of the top placmgs. It
