    MKCHANIGSBURG - A week of
special activities, including a
contest to guess the weight of a
steer, was held by the Cumberland
Valley Chapter in observance of
National FF A Week.
The steer weight guessing
contest was held on Thursday in
the courtyard of the Middle School
West. Three categories of com
petitors in the contest included
middle school students, high school
students and faculty. -Prizes were
awarded for the best weight
guesses.

The week-long observance in
cluded the display of various farm
animals in the courtyard of the
Middle School West and other
special events.
The activities began with coffee
and doughnuts for the Middle
School West faculty on Friday
morning, Feb. 19.
On Monday, dairy animals were
on display. Tuesday’s full schedule
of events included an FFA Week
Breakfast in the high school
cafeteria, a swine display and a
roller skating party at the Rainbow
Clintock, Vicki Basehore, FFA chapter
secretary; Chuck Albright and Tim Miller.
