Poultrymen launch $280,000 fund drive GEORGETOWN, Del. George A. Adkins, Millsboro, Del., fund fjrive chairman and first vice president of Delmarva Poultry Industry, Inc., has announced that the goal for the 1982 DPI Fund 'Drive has been set at $280,000. A kick-off meeting for fund drive workers,, washeld recently in Seaford, Del. DPI is the non-profit trade association that represents all phases of the multi-million dollar poultry industry on the Delmarva peninsula. William V. Roth, Jr., senior senator from Delaware, was the featured speaker for the evening. Roth praised the poultry producers for their independence and positive attitudes, noting that the poultry industry does not look for special benefits from government but just the opportunity to compete on equal terms. He continued by saying that the Delmarva poultry industry stands as an example of values and goals that have worked so well in building this country and which must be embraced again if we are to maintain our position of world leadership. Nearly 200 volunteer workers from communities throughout the jplelmarva broiler area were in attendance and reported a total of cash and pledges collected to date of $153,739.
