Four day receipts 12,725 com
pared 10,325 last week, 13,750 year
ago. Coupled with last week’s'
closing higher beef trade and short
receipts Monday, Steers and
Heifers opened high but part of the
advance was lost by late Monday.
Wednesday receipts were small
enough to _ hold price levels
together despite sharp downturns
for dressed beef. Cow beef also
trended lower and local receipts
liberal. Heifers made up 34 pet of
the estimated five day total,
weights under 950 lbs.- continued
hard to sell. Steers estimated 38
pet with some increase in Mixed
Good and Choice but few loads
Choice and Prime included. Cows
20 pet; Feeders 5 pet.
