the small arena of the State Farm
Show Building during the Eastern
Sports and Outdoor Show, Feb. 6-
14.
Show Director Richard Libertine
said the turkey-calling contest is to
be directed by well-known turkey
caller Harvey Graybill. This
competition, to be held -Tuesday,
Feb. 9, begins at 5:30 p.ih. for the -
Junior division, followed by the
adult division at 6‘: 15 p.m.
The turkey-calling competition

Visitors to Sports Snow invited to give a ‘hoot’
'demonstrating both friction and
mouth calls. Contestants and
judges are separated by a curtain.
Each contestant gives a series of
calls which are then scored by the
judges. The'highest score wins.
Anyone interested in entering
this eighth annual competition
should complete registration at the
show office before 6 p.m. the day of
the contest. The entry fee is $2 for
adults; children under 13 are free.
The next evening, Wednesday,
Feb. 10, features duck-calling and
owl-hooting contests. Lou Hoff

Dairy Day
ducted by the Wayne County
Agricultural Extension Service in
cooperation with area farm supply
dealers and farm organizations.
A planning meeting for Dairy
Day will be held January 26 at 8:00
p.m. in the Extension Office,
Courthourse, Honesdale. Anyone
who is interested in assisting with
Dairy Day is welcome to attend.
Committee members are being
appointed, according to John
Creighton, County Extension
Director, but others who attend the,
planning meeting will be added to
committees.
It is expected that the
educational phase of the Dairy Day
program will feature energy
conservation on the dairy farm. In
addition, possibly as many as 30
commercial exhibitors will be
participating. Interested
exhibitors can .sign up by con

highest scorer.
Each contestant can register on
Wednesday until 6 p.m. The entry
fee for both owl-hooting and duck
calling is $2 for all ages.
