Worship service
set for Show
HAHKISBUKG A non
denommationai worship service
will be held at 11:30 a.m., Sunday,
January 10, to herald the opening
of the 66th Annual Pennsylvania
Farm Show.
State Agriculture Secretary
Penrose Hallowell said the service,
in the main arena of the Farm
Show Complex, has been scheduled
to accommodate out-of-town
visitors who may wish to attend the
opening day festivities.
“In the past,” he said, "many
people who wanted to attend the
opening ceremonies were forced to
decide between church and the
Farm Show. This worship service
provides the opportunity for out-of
town visitors tcrdo both.”
The service was arranged
through the Pennsylvania Council
of Churches under the direction of
the Reverend Paul D. Gehris,
director of the council’s Office of
Social Ministry. •
Delivering the sermon, " ? n the
Middle of Things,” will be the
Reverend Pamela H. Ford, of the
United Methodist Church, Central
Pennsylvania .Conference.
Assisting in the service is the
Reverend Albert Myers of the
State Council of Churches.
Special music for the worship
service will be provided by the
"Baptones,” a spiritual quartet
trom the West Shore Baptist
Church of Camp Hill. The mem
bers include, E.J. Stevens, pianist;
A 1 Sweigard, Bob Zoll and Tom
Gabel, Sr.
