Pa. food marketplace will be open again at next week's
HARRISBURG - Food
processors and retailers will again
display their wares at next week’s
"arm Show in the Pennsylvania
, 'ood Marketplace, according to
Mate Agriculture Secretary
lenrose Hallowell.
Hallowell said, “These firms
the more than 1,400 food
rocessors and 28,000 retail food
jtlets in the Commonwealth. Our
griculture-related businesses
comprise a $25 billion a year in
dustry which provides jobs for
early 900,000 Pennsylvanians.”
Sixteen Pennsylvania firms are
exhibiting their wares at the
ennsylvama Food Marketplace in

The Agriculture Secretary noted
the theme of the 1982 Farm Show,
“Pennsylvania Agriculture—
We’re Growing Better,” applies to
these food processing, wholesale
and retail firms as well. “The
‘We’re Growing Better’ logo
campaign has been adopted by 160
Pennsylvania food processors,” he
said, “while 800 farm markets and
1,000 retail food stores are now
using the logo to identify Penn
sylvania foods."
Hallowell urged the public to
stop at the Pennsylvania Food
Marketplace while at the Farm
Show. “The Marketplace gives you
a chance to ‘take a taste’ of the
many food products from Penn
sylvania agriculture,” he said.

December 26, 1981 were 2,245,000,
two percent below the previous
week but 5 percent above the
corresponding week a year earlier.
Average placements during the
past 9 weeks were one percent
above a year ago. for
broiler chicks were 3,663,000, six
percent above the previous week
but three percent below the same
period a year earlier. The current
3-week total of eggs set is three
