Records are up from the 1980 levels of 14,717 milk and 559 fat which was accomplished by 89 herd owners Cow numbers have also increased from 3,863 in 1980 to 4,315 in 1981 Juniata County DHIA has completed its 58th year of testing. Flaroid B Shearer of East Waterford has set a new high for butterfat average per cow at 743 pounds, and Roy and Glen Henry of Port Royal have achieved the highest milk production with 19,956 average per cow in Juniata County Honors tor the highest individual cow were shared by Freeburn and Norman Love with their registered Holstein cow making 26,880 pounds in milk and 1,196 pounds fat. Of the 100 full-year herds on test, 35 had butterfat averages over 600 pounds. An additional 39 herds exceeded 500 pounds of butterfat. The following list is for herds over 600 pounds Harold B. In 1927, the Association's first year, the county had less than 400 cows Corry dairyman, David Tnscuit turned in the top averages for milk and fat with records of 20,266 pounds of milk and 723 pounds of fat on 55 8 cows. A 10-year-old Flolstem owned by Robert Henry of Union City finished with the highest record in county for milk and fat. Henry's high producer "Julie” finished with 31,843 pounds of milk and 1,228 pounds of fat. Included in the following list are those dairy farmers recording more than 600 pounds of fat.
