Wasson'of Adel, lowa, coordinator
of operations of the National Pork
Producers Council located in Des
Moines, has been named to head
the American Sheep Producers
Council as executive director ef
fective January 14,1982.
Wasson’s appointment was
announced by Chris Jouflas of
Grand Junction, Colorado,
president of the Council and a
sheepman. Wasson succeeds Dick
Bigtin as executive director
following Biglin’s retirement after
more than 25 years of service.

Wasson moves from Pork to Sheep Council

Wasson was bom May 24,1949, in
West Central Illinois where his
father fanned and raised sheep.
Before serving two years with
the Pork Council, Wasson was
executive vice president of the
Indiana Beef Cattle Association
from 1973 to 1979. He had
previously worked for ASPC in
Denver for one year in 1972-73 as
director of the Sheep Industry
Development Program.
Wasson graduated from Illinois
State University in 1971 with a

Department of Agriculture has
issued a correction to a list of
poultry scald agents contained in
its new rule on substances which
meat and poultry plants can use in
processing.
The correction on a charge in the
final rule shows that 16 poultry
