Ag Council of America announces
WASHINGTON, D.C. -
Nineteen leaders of America’s
agricultural community have
volunteered to serve on two new
panels that will direct a 1982
program to recruit new members
of the Agriculture Council of
America and actively involve them
in the organization’s projects,
Roger Clark, chairman of the ACA
Board of Directors, has an
nounced.
An eight-member ACA
Development Board will be
chaired by U.S. Sen. Robert Dole,
R-Kan., chairman of the Senate
Finance Committee, senior
Republican on the Senate
Agriculture Committee and a
longtime active supporter of ACA.
The Agriculture Council of
America, wiht 2,500 individual and
business members, is a nonprofit,
nonpartisan corporation founded
in 1973 to communicate facts about
agriculture to the general public
and to serve as a forum through
which the farm community's
various segments could reach
consensuses on questions of
widespread importance.
The members of the Develop
ment Board are John F. Anderson,
president of Farmland Industries;
Mike Fitch, vice president of
agribusiness affairs at Wells
Fargo Bank; William Galbraith,
executive vice president of the
National Farm and Power
Equipment Dealers Association;
B.J. (Jerry) O’Dowd, president of
AGRI-Industnes; Orion
Samuelson, vice president and
agricultural services director of
WGN Radio & Television in
Chicago; Darwin Stolte, president
of the U.S. Feed Grains Council;
Roy W. Uelner, executive - vice
president of Allis-Chalmers, and
Richard A. Wilson, president of
Agri-Trans Corporation.
The board is a largely honorary
group, representing an array of
producer and agribusiness in
terests. dark said that it would
advise ACA on issues around which
it might need to develop new
programs, and its members would
