A4o—Lancaster Farming, Saturday, November 28,1981 NAILE closes out ’Bl show season LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Penn sylvania dairy exhibitors turned in a fine record, taking home blue ribbons and one Champion rosette during the recent North American International Livestock Exposition in Louisville. In the Guernsey division, the grand champion, junior champion and reserve junior champion were all bred in Dauphin County. The Guernsey grand champion, Keystone Big T Jennifer, was owned and exhibited by John and Bonny Ayars of Mechanicsburg, Ohio. The Ayars top 3-year-old was bred by Wilmer Campbell of Milestone Stardom Beauty Sue, the top selling female at the All American Jersey Sale, set an all-time record for females. The Sue cow sold for $31,000 to Earl Waltemyer, Coilegeville. The record-breaking female was consigned by Jana Kay Dewitt, Brashear, Texas. Wi., purchased the top-selling Jersey male, Top Saint, tor $32,000. The 16- month-oid Favorite Saint son was consigned by C.L. Collins, Jr., and JJ. Terlin Farms of Elizabethville captured the Junior Champion title with their senior yearling entry, Terlin Top Hornet. A junior yearling heifer, owned by Jeff .Costello, Scottsville, Ky., was tapped reserve junior champion. Costello’s Guernsey, A Grand View T.D. Bambi, was bred by Marvin Miller, Middletown. Guernsey junior, Alissa Fava of Co-Hill Farms, Scenery Hill, competed in the large junior show and placed third with her senior heifer calf, Co-Hill Farms B.T. Nutmeg. Several Jersey jumors competed for ribbons in classes with more than 40 enterics. Mansfield junior Stephanie Kocher and her entry, B Sleeper Royal Mary of SSF, walked off with a blue ribbon in the junior yearling class. The grand champion Jersey, Empire Crusader Heidi hailed from Alabama. The 6-year-old champion is owned by Bama Jersey, Arab, Al. Crawford County Dairy Prin cess, Cinda Oakes exibited ,her Holsteins to a first and second place. The Cochranton exhibitor took a blue ribbon in the open and junior show for her intermediate calf, Vel-Rus Elevation Boots Lover. Oakes’ junior calf, Vel-Rus Marvex Penstate Maria, placed second in the junior show. A Michigan Holstein walked off with Grand Champion honors. Lonsfarm Matt K Katherine, a 3- year-old, was owned and exhibited by London’s Farm Dairy, North Street. '. i ye,:: -old Brown Swiss cap tured the Grand Champion banner in the Swiss open show. Alpine Hills Missy is owned by Alpine Hills Swiss Farm, Corinth, Ken tucky. Ohio exhibitors, Nelson E. Lange. & Son of Kirkersville, collected the Grand Champion banner with their 6-year-old Ayrshire, Scotch Haven Lita Maretta- / The North American also featured several breed sales. The All-American Jersey sale topped all sale averages, merchandising 48 head for $6,410. The sale grossed $307,700. Earl Waltemyer of Wallebe Farm, Collegeville purchased the top-selling female for $31,000. Milestpne Stardom Beauty Sue was consigned by Jana Kay DeWitt, Brashear, Texas. American Breeder Service of DeForest, Wi., paid $32,000 for the high-selling male, Top Saint. The top bull was consigned by C.L. Collins, Jr. and J.J. Mainati, Sylacauga, Alabama. Heather and Crystal Acomb of Stafford, N.Y. purchased the top selling Jersey in the Pot O’ Gold Sale for $5,000. The sale grossed $40,850 and averaged $2,918 for 14 females. The Acombs’ purchase, Ogston Magics N.P. was consigned by John Bishop, Columbus, N. J.
