The 1200-pound black Angus was a monetary winner for Randy, while on the sale block brought the top sale price of 11.10 a pound, seven cents above last years’ Western Sizzlm Steak House, Carlisle, bought Yost’s champion along with the Reserve Sale Champion steer owned by Ron Kunrael for 86 cents. Kimmel’s steer weighed in at 1410 pounds. Randy continued to steal the show at the round-up as he paraded the Angus gracefully around the ring to be awarded the trophy for Senior Champion Showman. Next on the list was the In termediate Showmanship class and the judge quietly remarked “this looks like a challenge.” The 17 entries were real com petitors, always under control and alert, however, a champion had to be selected. Chris Hopple was motioned to the head of the class with her medium-weight angus to be crowned the Intermediate Champion Showman for the round up. The junior champion Showman was awarded to Kim Hopple, showing her big black Angus, Jack. Chris and Kun Hopple along with Karen Fought, Denise Baker, Keith Baker, Bob Line, AUyson Sheaffer, Tun Gordon, Nancy Line, Bill Kunmel, Angie Fought, Tom Gordon and Sandy Hopple will be representing Cumberland County at the 1962 Farm Show competition. Sandy Hopple was also awarded the title of Reserve County Beef Champion for the round-up.
