Cedar Crest FFA judges pumpkins LEBANON The Cedar Crest FFA held its annual pumpkin contest at the high school agriculture shop. Third and fourth grade students from the Cornwall- Lebanon School District par ticipated. Judge for the contest was Clyde Forney, an out-of-school member. While the judging was being completed, the participants en joyed a movie and refreshments. Kevin Devine, of the Cloister chapter. State FFA treasurer, addressed the group of parents and greenhands. A slide program of FFA activities was presented by Ron Weaver, Merle Martin and Dean Weaver. Following the program the parents and grandparents toured the high school vo-ag department. FFA leadership session held LEBANON Eleven members of the Cedar Crest FFA recently attended a FFA Leadership Training Conference at the Ann ville-Cleona High School. The purpose of the event was to familiarize FFA officers and members with their duties and responsibilities as chapter leaders. The group was greeted by James C. Campbell, principal of Annville- Cleona High School. As part of the program, Douglas Hershberger, State FFA President, Glenn T. Wenger, State FFA Vice President, and Dean Patches, State FFA Secretary, spoke to the group about leadership. A demonstration on proper etiquette was presented by Mrs. Cyril Beck, Home Economist. After dinner, all members re treated to an officer group room where specific duties of each FFA officer were described. Martin is a member of *he Pennsylvania milk judging hand Quiz Contest where first year FFA members from Lebanon and Schuylkill Counties competed. The contestants had to orally answer difficult questions dealing with the history of the FFA. Competing from Cedar Crest were Ann Lannsberry, receiving 4th place, Ed Zuck, placmg 6th and Gary Krall placing Bth.
