New Holland Farm Show honors 4-H’ers
LANCASTER Parents and
members of the New Holland 4-H
Pig and Beef clubs met last Friday
night at the Leola Family
Restaurant to honor champion 4-
H’ers from New Holland’s 50th
Farm Show, held earlier this fall.
Scooping up three trophies was
Janae Martin of New Holland who
received honors for Senior
Showman, Fitting, and Reserve
Champion in the beef class.
The coveted champion beef
trophy went to Ernest Mast of
Morgantown and the Junior
Showman awards to Emily
Weaver of Ephrata.
In pig 4-H, Laura Folker of New
Holland emerged top champion.
Laura left the banquet with an
award for Fitting and Reserve
Champion.
Champion honors went to Jimmy
Martin of New Holland, and Dave
Fisher of East Earl received credit
for being named Senior Showman.
The Junior Showman title went
to Heidi Fisher of East Earl.
The Blue Ball Bank and the New
Holland Bank awarded checks for
$lO to each participating 4-H’er
and the Farm Show Board
distributed checks for those 4-
H’ers who placed in their showing
classes.

respectively.
Master of Ceremonies for the
evening was Ron Martin, president
of the beef club. Also speaking
Janae Martin of New Holiand walked away from the New
Holland beef and pig club banquet with three of the five
awards presented for beef 4-H. She received trophies for
Senior Showman, Reserve Champion, and Fitting.

Lueck remarked that 4-H is a
family affair saying, “We have 5
brother and sister combinations in
the pig 4-H.’’
