Boyd, of 39 Knollwood Dnve, Akron, Thursday was named state and national winner of the 4-H Alumni Recognition Award in the National 4-H Awards Program. Boyd, a former outstanding 4-H member, currently serves as vice president and director of the agri finance department of the Hamilton Bank, Lancaster. According to Carroll L. Howes, associate 4-H youth program director at The Pennsylvania State University, Boyd will receive a plaque. He was selected from among the quarter-million Pennsylvania 4-H alumni. Support of the alumni recognition program is provided by the Friends of National 4-H Council. One of Boyd’s greatest con tributions to the 4-H program was his involvement in developing the worldwide youth program during 1966-72 when he served as 4-H program director for the Amencan-Korean Foundation, Inc., Howes points out. He also served as an In ternational Farm Youth Exchange delegate to Korea and currently is a member of the Lancaster County 4-H IFYE Association. As a 4-H member, the alumni recognition winner was involved m 13 project categories including livestock, field crops, small fruits, apiary, poultry, soil conservation, tractor and electrical main tenance. He completely financed his undergraduate college work with proceeds from his 4-H projects. He also was a delegate to the American Institute of Cooperation in Berkeley, California; was recipient of the Lancaster County 4-H Achievement Award for three years; and attended Pennsylvania 4-H Leadership Congress and State 4-H Camp.
