PGC releases game HARRISBURG - Pennsylvania hunters are expected to find fairly good populations of game birds during the early part of the regular small game season, but the natural supply will be supplemented by additional wildlife released by the Game Commission. This year 215,500 ringneck pheasants have been scheduled for release on both public and private lands which are open to public hunting. The figure is comparable to the numbers of birds released in recent years. Not only have the game farms been able to produce a high number of birds to be liberated this fall, but the propagation efforts have also resulted in an excellent quality bird for release. And smce hunters in the northern part of Pennsylvania are permitted to harvest birds of either sex, an increased number of hens will be stocked. This year 38,500 hen pheasants are scheduled for release in that portion of the state where shooting of hen birds is permitted. Funds for operation of the game farms and distribution of this wildlife come from the sale of hunting licenses. A LESSON WELL LEARNED... LANCASTER FARMING'S CLASSIFIED AOS GET RESULTS!
