Dairylea Cooperative, has an
nounced area- young persons and
women are scheduled to take
leadership roles when the Nor
theast cooperative holds its 62nd
annual meeting at Grossinger’s in
Liberty, NY, Thursday and
Friday, October IS and 16.
Dairylea’s Young Cooperators,
youth division of the cooperative,
will bold a full-scale convention of
their own, complete with business
meetings, elections and in
formation sessions, according to
Mary Beth McConnell of Clinton,
NY., president of the Young
Cooperators Executive Com
mittee.
The YC Executive Committee is
responsible for conducting all
annual meeting events for Young
Cooperators. New York members
include: Robert Schulerud,
Valatie; Michael Hall, Delhi; Scott
Fraser, Avon; Heather Fraser,
York; Mary Beth McConnell,
Clinton; Walter Ewanciew, Port
Jervis; Robert * Johnson,

The co-op’s Advisory and
Legislative Committeewomen
have prepared several different
programs for the annual meeting.
Thursday the women will hear
management presentations and
reports. -Friday’s agenda will
include sessions on Dairylea’s
operations and policies, the
nutritional aspects of milk,
women’s roles in the dairy in
dustry and legislative activity at
the national level.
Mrs. Theoddre King of Athens,
NY will chair a meeting titled
“Dairylea and the World Around
Us.” The speaker will be Edgar T.
Mertz, Dakylea’s Chief Executive
Officer.
Mrs. Harold Reynolds of
Delancey, NY will head a session,
“Milk and Your Life.” The speaker
will be Kamal Aboshamaa,
director of research and
develoment for the cooperative.
Mrs. Hobart Weise of Mayville,
NY will chair a panel discussion
entitled “Women in "the Dairy
Industry.”
