supper.
Following the picnic, a meeting
was held with President Jean

The Cumberland County Con
vention will be held November 14
at the Embers Convention Center.
Group 20 is in charge of the door
prizes.
A 2-day trip to' New Jersey is
being planned for October 6 and 7.
Those going will meet-Mrs. Shirley
Albright , a geologist for the New
Jersey. State Museum, who will
have a trip planned for them. •
Election of officers was held.
The officers for 1982-83 will be:

HARRISBURG - Out-of-state
teams dominated during the In
vitational Youth Judging Contest
last week at the Pennsylvania All-
American Dairy Show being ‘held
at the Farm Show Complex.
Over 160 4-H, PFA and In
tercollegiate judges participated
in the events, Judging some of the
best dairy cattle in the country.
The high scoring collegiate team
came from Cal Poly, California.
Three points behind the winners
were Virginia Poly Tech, followed
by the University of Wisconsm-
Madison, Delaware Valley College
of Science and Agriculture,
Doylestown, J3ucks. County, and
the University of Minnesota placed
fifth.

was the high scorer for' the
Delaware Valley College Team,

breeds. Brad Beidel of Carlisle
also on the Delaware Valley
College team, came in eighth from
72 judges in the judging of all
breeds.
Pennsylvania’s FFA team also
placed fourth in the competition.
Leading the FFA judging was
Indiana, followed by Marylapd-and
New York FFA.
In the individual FFA com
petition between 32 contestants,.

second forindividual reasons.
The Virginia 4-H team captured
the team title in the 4-H division.
Placing second through fifth were
teams from Illinois, Michigan,
Minnesota and New Jersey. The
Pennsylvania 4-H team ranked
eleventh in the 15-team com
petition.
A Washington County 4-H’er,
Rachel Sherman of Washington,
ranked high in the 4-H Holstein
judging class. Sherman placed
third with a score of 144 points
from a possible 150 points.
