observed Work Day, Saturday,
September 19, in the Fellowship
Hall of Swamp United Church of
Christ m Kemholds.
The purpose of Work Day was to
prepare the food to be served at the
Lancaster Co. Society 18

recently at the home of Mrs. Center, October 20.

stand at the Manheun Farm Fair

Ephrata Fair from September 22
to 26. Society 3 has been operating
a stand at the Ephrata Fair tor
sixty years.
The next meeting will be a bus
trip, to Gettysburg, Saturday,
October 17.
The next meeting will be held at
the Farm and Home Center, Oc
tober 17.
Couples’ night will be an old
tashioned dinner served by
Sanders’ Catering.
County Convention will be
November 7 with Dot Wirth as
speaker at the Farm and Home
Center. The Homemaker’s
Christmas Program will be Oc
tober 26 and 27 with reservations
necessary.

The September meeting of the
Society 12 was held in the home of
June Beck of Bemville, Rl.
Mrs. Beck will be installed as a
new member next month.
Before the meeting, the women
had a birthday dinner at Trainer’s
Midway Diner. Birthday presents
were exchanged after the meeting.
A hoedown will be held at the
Hamburg Field House Saturday,
October 24, from 8 to 12 a.m.
Tickets can be purchased from any
member of the Society. Door prizes
will be given at the end of the
evening.
The County Convention will be
held September October 3. All the
women should bring something for
the silent auction. It starts at 9:30.
The’ winners of the dcrapbook will
be announced at that time.
Members made shoo-fly pies and
sold them at the Reading Fair. The
money will be donated to the 4-H
Center,'
