Secretary of Agriculture John Block authorized this action to provide producers additional flexibility as they plan this year’s marketing strategies. “As we look toward a farm policy that is more market oriented, it is important that producers are free to plan their marketing activity in a way that will be most beneficial to their individual operations,” he said. Producers should contact their county ASCS office for further information on extending their loans. 1981 com and sorghum harvest will soon begin. The crop appears to be large and market prices are sluggish.- For farmers who wish to use ASCS farm storage facility loans for additional gram storage and ’gram drying equipment, current interest rates are 14.8 percent.
