The grand champion La Mancha doe was exhibited by Susan Miller, Furlong. t X 1 rJjjp&S&f!* ALLENTOWN For the second year in a row, judge David Funk from Sherburne, N.Y. gave the Best In Show honors at the Allentown Fair Open Dairy Goat Show to GCH Kockspring Pharoh Look AT Me, owned by Ann J. Miller of Furlong. This doe topped the show alter winning the Champion Challenge class over the grand champion Toggenburg ot the day, a herd mate Rockspring Lynas Tremendous, who completed her Permanent Championship status with the American Dairy Goat Association with that win. Reserve grand champion was Waterhouse Gama also owned by Miller. The Miller family has been exhibiting dairy goats at the Allentown Fair continuously since 1965. Talcing home the honors of Grand Champion in the Nubian show was Horseshoe Acres T V Jennifer, owned by Edwin and Sally Rehrig of West Bowmans. A breeder of dairy goats for the past 5 years, they explained they were extremely pleased a doe of then own breeding had won. Reserve grand champion Nubian was Wintergreen D H J Early Bird, owned by 4-H’er Cheryl Eschbach of Kempton. It was a rewarding day for Cheryl, who also won Grand Champion and Reserve m Alpines. Cheryl’s Gledening’s Mercena went Grand Champion, completing her Permanent Champion status with ADGA. Her own-bred doe Amor G M Andre’s Ashley, a daughter of the GCH doe, went Reserve Grand Champion. Cheryl is a Lehigh Co. 4-H’er, who has been competing at the Allentown Fair for the past 5 years. 4-H’er Susan E. Miller of Furlong, showed her 2-year-old La Mancha’ doe (CH pending), Rockspring Tonka Ultra Violet, not only to the Grand Championship but also to win Best of Breed as winner of the Champion Challenge class. Reserve Champion honors went to Rocky Orchard Acres Mindy owned by Leonard K. Williams. Under ADGA rules that reserve win gives her a leg toward her Permanent Champion Status. Lorraine E. Eschbach’s Kidding Hills Knight’s Angel won Grand Champion Saanen. The Reserve Grand Champion Saanen was Gay- Mor’s K P Cambric owned by Dennis J. Dominick of Fogelsville. Joanne Dominick, Foglesville, showed her Recorded Grade doe, Horseshoe Acres V S Jasmine, to a purple ribbon. That was the doe’s second championship. 4-H’er Margaret Schoenly of Barto won Reserve Grand Champion with Petunia Great Flower. A total of 104 dairy goats were shown by 21 exhibitors. 4-H Junior and Senior Showmanship classes also were held. Winning Junior Showman ship and qualifying for an ADGA Showmanship Certificate was 13- year-old Susan E. Miller, Furlong, who has been showing 4-H for 5 years. Senior Showman, qualifying for an ADGA Showmanship Cer tificate, was 17 year old Gary C. Mengel of Fogelsville.-A.M. The gram- jmp' Joanne Dominick, Fogelsville.
