    The reserve grand champion steer was shown by 18-year
old Margaret Hughes of R 1 Portage, Cambria Co. Presenting
the winner’s plaque is Bob Miller, Woodsboro, Md.
Lancaster’s Fred Weaver concentrates on showing off his
Chianina steer. Although Fred didn't capture any champion's
award, his enthusiasm and showmanship effort were blue
ribbon winners.

held at Lauxmont Farms,

The protection
ot Lancaster County streams will,
be the topic of three different
workshops to be held at the Farm
'and Home Center, here on Sep
tember 21,28 and October 8.
The three sessions are designed
to discuss different areas of
stream resource and protection
programs in Lancaster County.
—The September 21 session will
provide an overview of the three
presentations and discuss those
streams in the county which are
designated as high quality streams
and why special protection
measures are used to keep them
this way.
—September 28, this session will
discuss the designation of certain
