NY 14020 Carhsla, PA 17013 “Serving the Farmers of the Northeast through Farm Equipment Dealers” Wilson takes championships BY LAUREL SCHAEFFER Staff Correspondent KUTZTOWN - While one Lehigh County resident swept the beef competition at the 1981 Kutztown Fair last week another was waiting to try his luck with the hog shows: Willi Wilson, the fifteen-year-old son of Marion Wilson, Mertztown captured Grand Champion honors during the Market Hog Show judged by William Tyner, in structor of Delaware Valley College, Doylestown. Havmg shown hogs for five years and beef for Tour, Wilson was not new to the ring, as his showmanship skills proved. He also was selected as top swine showman and fitter. The grand champion entry was a Yorkshire crossbred weighing 258 pounds. It was entered in the Heavy-Heavyweight class with two penmates Reserve grand champion also was a heavyweight hog shown by thirteen-year-old Jim McCauley, New Tripoli covering both bases for Lehigh County. McCauly has been showing hogs for three years. His sister and two brothers also competed in the show.
