Actually, it was a harmless display from the FMC Corporation,
one of the many commercial exhibitors at Pennsylvania’s
annual Ag Progress Days.

op silage sample in the state hay show last year. Al Dugan,
>ft, farm manager, checked the sample with Penn State
jronomist John Baylor. The first cutting from a field of WL 311
/as made at early bud. The hay show will be a major part of the
• Progress Days show once again.
Jay McCarreii, Washington County, showed a later cutting
of heat finished Conestoga alfalfa to become the grand
champion of the state hay show last year. Show judge
Clarence Bryner, left, liked the fine stems, leafiness, green
color and early maturity of the sample. The hay show will be
judged on Tuesday during Ag Progress Days this year.
