    Over 30 conservation- .jded students took part in a week-long Youth
Conservation School for Lancaster County youth last week. Participating were:

great outdoors eating roast
venison and sharing the land with
ducks, deer, and foresters may be
some people’s way ot escaping it
all, but to over 30 youths who
gathered tor the Lancaster County
Conservation School, it was a week
lull ot learning survival, orien
teering, fishing, biology and the
list continues

Though the students camped at
the northern Lancaster County’s
Fish and Game Association’s 130
Lancaster Farair
acre game farm, they did have
opportumty to leave the spot for
several classes. These classes
included duck banding at Middle
Creek by Ted Fox, game com
missioner, and a trip to Hammer
Creek to learn stream im
provement by Ron Tibbet from the
Fish Commission.

"1 think the students all enjoyed
the week and profited from it. I had
them all fill out an evaluation form
and each said on it that they would
like to return next year as a junior
counselor,” Johnston said.
This marks the third year the
school has been held and each year
the enrollment has improved. The
