Chapter plants com test plot
ELVERSON - Through the
cooperative efforts of 11 local field
corn seed dealers, Omar Beam,
and the Twin Valley FFA chapter,
area farmers again have the op
portunity to compare field corn
varieties side-by-side in the same
field.
Forty varieties are planted on
the Omar Beam farm at R 2.
Elverson The test plot can be
viewed anytime on the corner of
Chestnut Tree and Beam roads
There are at least two rows of each
variety with four rows of some. All
test rows run parallel with
Chestnut Tree Road.
Local seed dealers provided seed
for the test plot. Beam provided
the land for the test plot and
equipment to plant and harvest it
and will receive the corn trom the
plot The chapter handled the
organization of the plot, assisted
with planting, will erect iden-
