LITITZ Lancaster County’s 4-
H horse and pony club members
gathered for county competition
recently at the Lower Hopewell
Horse Farm, here.
Seventy-six members, up one
from last year, participated m
thirty-two classes.
The top three placmgs in each
class, except two in pair and one in
county team, will be eligible to
enter the District Show to be held
Saturday, September 12, at the
Lower Hopewell Horse Farm.
Karen Hinerdeer, Marietta
Avenue in Lancaster, won the
coveted Senior Grooming and
Showmanship title Among
Karen’s other awards were Stock
Seat Equitation - Senior Division
and second in Western Pleasure
Horse. Karen rode her seven-year
old gelding, “Go Gener Go.” She is
a member of the Broken Bit 4-H
club.
Placing first in Western
Pleasure Horse was Jessica Watts,
12, of Lititz riding “Colt 442 ” She
is a member of the Boots and
Saddles club.
Sixteen-year-old David Wood of
the Pegasus 4-H club this year
entered the Western Riding class
for the first time and left the
competition with the first place
title.
Judges for the round-up were
Robert Mowrey of State College
judging western classes and Lloyd
Dreibelbis of Frederick judging
