A Breakthrough in
Planting Accuracy
The new White* 5100 Seed Boss™ Planter represents a breakthrough into a new
era of accuracy. Accuracy that can payoff with increased germination, better stands
and higher yields for you.
Exclusive new dual depth gauge wheels with walking-beam linkages allow both
wheels to act with complementary action. So when one gauge wheel goes over a
large clod or rock, the other remains in contact with the seedbed. As a result the
height of the two wheels is averaged and the double-disc opener raises only half the
height of the obstacle. Gauge wheels on competitive models act in tandem causing
the seed disc opener to raise the full height of the obstacle. The White payoff. ..
greater seed depth accuracy
More gentle seed handling with a new pressurized metering system adds greater
uniformity in seed spacing. A central blower provides constant air pressure to each
metering unit. (Individual row blowers on 4-row models). Air then "holds” the seed
in a cell on the seed disc until a gentle brush cut-off allows it to fall in a natural
trajectory through the seed tube. The design of this system essentially eliminates
forward motion of the seed, minimizing roll and bounce iff the seed trench. The
White payoff... greater in-row accuracy with minimal seed coat damage.
New constant-pressure press wheels exert uniform down pressure on the sides of
the trench to consistently firm moist soil around the seed despite changing soil or
terrain. The White payoff... optimum germinating conditions.
A host of standard performance and convenience features are integrated into
every 5100 Seed Boss. Features such as a 7x7-inch main frame, hydraulic markers,
quick population change transmission and new IV2 bushel seed hoppers. And it’s all
ready for you in 8-row folding, 6- and 4-row models.
