McMillan has named Mildred Pyle Thynuan, a Minnesota farmer and senatorial assistant, as ad ministrator of the U.S. Depart ment of Agriculture’s Marketing Service. According to a recent Mid- Atlantic Market Administrator’s bulletin, Thyiman will head a 2,160- person agency concerned with a variety of marketing activities, including: classing and grading of cotton and tobacco; gathering and reporting wholesale market news for various commodities; regulation of packers, stockyards, seed and fruit vegetable handlers; federal warehouse inspection and licensing; market research and development; and administration of marketing orders for milk, fruits and vegetables.
