When asked what he liked about High Moisture Corn, Gerry’s reply was, “I put more meat on the
hogs in the same amount of time compared to dry corn. My hogs eat more High Moisture Com than
dry corn and finish out faster! We are marketing our hogs 10 to 15 lbs. heavier in the same length of
time with High Moisture Corn.”
“In February,” says Gerry and his wife, “the local mill that we deal with was selling dry shelled
corn for $4.05/bu. on a dry basis. I purchased my High Moisture Corn in October for $3.70/bu.”
“When I switched to HARVESTORE, I substituted High Moisture Com pound for pound with the
dry corn that I was feeding.” says Gerry.
“My hog operation is farrow to finish,” explains Gerry. “The average hog goes to market in 5 Vz
months. On my dry corn feeding program, the hogs averaged between 190-195 pounds going to
market. Now with HARVESTORE High Moisture Corn, my hogs are averaging 210 pounds in the
same amount of time."
