Cook, 36, of R 1 Riegelsvilie, Bucks County, has been appointed as the Legislative and Program Liaison Officer for the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, ac cording to Agriculture Secretary Penrose Hallowell. Cook assumed his new position within the Department on June 17. Cook, who had been serving as Director of the Bureau of Rural Affairs, will continue that position in an acting capacity until a suc cessor is named. As Legislative and Program Liaison, Cook is responsible for the development of the Agriculture Department’s legislative programs. He will be working in the preparation of specific legislation and will assign priorities to legislative proposals. Cook will also serve as Secretary Hallowell’s liaison officer in relation with members of the General Assembly. “Dan Cook has had an extensive background in agricultural and departmental matters,” Hallowell said. “1 am pleased that he has accepted this appointment and I’m Grow Rabbits. He was initially ap pointed as Chief of the Office of Planning, Research and Economic Development, and subsequently was named Director of Rural Affairs. Cook is the former chairman of the Bucks County Planning Commission, and has served the Bucks County Farmers Association as a member of the Board of Directors, Chairman of the State and National Legislative Committees, and as Chairman of the Local Affairs Committee which assisted in implementing Acts 319 and 515 in Bucte County. Cook owns and operates a farm in Upper Bucks County. He is a 1962 graduate of Easton Area High School.
