One of the Highlights of the
conference was a visit by the
FFA’ers to the offices of their
respective congressmen—Alan'
Ertel, of the 17th District; or
Robert Walker, of the 16th District.
The FFA conference program is
designed to improve leadership
skills, develop an understanding of
the national heritage, and prepare
FFA members for more effective
leadership roles in their chapter
and community. The conference is
also a forum for the exchange of
FFA chapter activity ideas among
members from across the nation.
Besides the training sessions, the
1981 program includes visits to
Mount Vernon Plantation, the
National Archives, Smithsonian
Institution, Arlington National
Cemetery, and several other
historic monuments and,
memorials in and around the
Capital.
