Swartz pen tops market hog show, sale
purchased by Leidy Packing.
- The grand champion pen
averaged 228 lbs. The pen was
purchased as feeder pigs at the
Stockyards, which is believed to be
a first in the history of the show
and sale.
The Reserve Champion Pen,
consigned by Franklin Feeser, of
Tanneytown, Md., was sold tor
$56.00 to John Snyder. Also con-

heavyweights averaged 2JI lbs.
Average tor the sale was 54.82,
including the champions. Averge
weight was 219 lbs.
In all, 190 hogs in pens of 10 each
were judged by Henry Gruber, of A
and B Packing.
