4-H offers summer program for youth NORRISTOWN - A new 4-H program called “4-H Action Program” will be offered for Conshobocken youth ages 8-14 at the Marywood Park in Con shohocken from June 30-August 11. The main goal of the program is to involve youngsters in a project of their choice that will Improve their neighborhood community, as well as themselves. In addition to doing a community service project, youth will have the op portunity to do crafts, recreation and other activities in a dub setting. Youth who enroll, will be con sidered bonafide 4-H members, eligible to receive a 4-H mem bership card and to participate in a variety of other Montgomery County 4-H activities such as 4-H Camp and the 4-H Fair. Upon completion of the program, youth will receive 4-H Achievement certificate and merit ribbon. The program, conducted by the Montgomery County Extension Service arid Penn State University, will be taught by Janet Weymouth, 4-H Summer Assistant and a student at Kutztown State College. Adults are especially invited to assist Janet with the program and may volunteer by calling her or Helaine Brown, 4-H Agent, at 277- 0574. Registration for the 4-H/CD program is required and a fee of |1.25 per person for materials for the entire six-week program will be collected at the first session. It was decided only a dollar was needed for this year’s dues. Project leaders this year are Barbara Emery, Gloria Grube, Marion Harper, Miriam Irwin, Joan Mays, Arlene Miller, Shirley Miller, Emily Niendza and Jane Witman.
